The DeLorean Go Door Gas Strut (single)

1 single high quality British made gas strut for the DeLorean door, in black powdercoated steel, complete with 2 x 108110 safety pins. Featuring a bespoke dampening action which significantly slows the speed of travel as the door opens towards the end for a much smoother action than you will find with other struts - works great in all weathers. Exclusively made for us, after many months of testing and perfecting.

Normally ordered in pairs, or as part of our cost-saving set of 6 (see the separate listing).

Also available in stainless steel.

This is a quality hand-made item, there will be minor cosmetic imperfections. Our struts have the minimum of markings on, other than our discrete logo and the required regulatory warnings.

Installation is as simple as “popping off” your old strut (remove the safety pins first), then removing the safety pins on the new strut and popping it on (then re-install the safety pins). Install with the cylinder part uppermost for best results.
The 2 halves twist (the actual piston can twist) which may be necessary to do if they are not dead straight. This is best done with 2 adjustable spanners on the ball ends (clockwise).
In some rare cases minor adjustments to the door torsion bars might be required for optimum lift speed if this has been done previously to compensate for too weak or too strong struts.
