Interior Rear View Mirror Pad

Correctly sized and shaped high quality mirror pad.

Failure to correctly install and use a proper pad such as this will result in a cracked windscreen when the metal bracket on the mirror expands at a different rate than the glass onto which you've glued it. This double-sided adhesive pad acts as an insulator between the two different surfaces and prevents the glass from cracking.

Installation instructions:
Clean the screen thoroughly, to remove all old traces of glue, either use methylated spirits or Isopropyl alcohol, or lighter fuel. Make sure the mirror bracket backing where the pad will attach is cleaned as well.

Start the engine and put the heater on hot. Let the interior of car warm up considerably or alternatively heat up the mirror and screen with a hairdryer but NOT on full heat!

Apply the mirror pad to the mirror, taking care not to touch the sticky surface and push against the windshield. Hold in position for a few minutes. Try not to adjust the mirror too much for 24 hours.

Top Tip: put a drop of oil in the ball and socket part of the mirror before fitting and clean off the excess, this takes the strain away from the sticky pad when adjusting the mirror.
